mh_32Notes on seasons

The Gambia has a dry season from November to end of April and a rainy season from May to end of October. Rainfall peaks in August and September. May and October are usually less wet but still humid. In the dry season there is almost unbroken sunshine with relatively low humidity—temperatures peak around 30°C and fall to 18-20°C at night. In the rainy season, everything is green and rampant (beautiful to look at) but humidity is high and nights are hot (23-25°C). Finally, mosquitoes — in the dry season, they are not a problem though anti-malarials and insect repellents are still advisable. In the rainy season there are more mosquitoes and extra care is necessary.
