Gambia encourages the art of idleness but in fact there is plenty to do.

• Trips to the beach.
• Going out on the bikes:
  • Gunjur village (local market and village life)
  • Reptile Farm (Gambian snakes at close quarters)
  • Kartong (crocodile pool)
• Fishing (with gear hire and tuition)
• Bird-watching (with guide)
• Local tours with guide (schools, clinics, village houses etc)
• Day trips with car and driver:
  • Banjul, Brikama, Serrekunda and coastal resorts
• Visiting nature reserves (mainly bird-watching and monkeys)
  • Abuko, Bijilo Forest Park, Tanji River Bird Reserve
• Boat trips through mangroves (don’t forget binoculars!)
• Trips further afield (several days):
  • Up river to Bird Safari Camp
  • Jinack Island—stay at Jinack Lodge
